Consumer Reports Rates Audi Best Overal Brand

 

 

Consumer Reports has released it's Best Car Brands report for 2016, and Audi has been named Best Overall Brand.  According to Consumer Reports, they "tabulate the overall score, road-test score, and predicted reliability results for each tested model of a brand... then average those scores at the brand level. This average overall score is used to rank the car brands as an indicator of who makes the best cars.

 

In achieving the highest ranking, Audi had the highest overall score, the highest grade (better than average) in Predicted Reliability, and was one of only three brands that achieved a 100% score in the percentage of "Test Models That are Recommended."  The article says in conclusion: "Reliability has been solidly above average as of late, and most models do well in our owner satisfaction survey."

Audi A2 Set for 2016 Debut

 

 

 

It appears that Audi is set to add another entrant into the compact SUV market next year when it debuts the Audi Q2.  The Q2 will be an entry-level SUV, marketed below the established Q3.  It remains to be seen whether or not the Q2 will have a hatchback style. 

 

There are also plans to build off of the Audi e-tron Quattro concept with an electric crossover, likely with a Q6 model, that has been rumored to have a range of up to 310 miles.  Finally, Audi has confirmed that a new Q8 model will also be introduced, fitting in above the luxurious Q7.
